About Calvary
Calvary Chapel Parker is a non-denominational
Christian church and is affiliated with other Calvary Chapel fellowships throughout
the United States and internationally. Our affiliation
is based on fellowship and common doctrine. We
started as a small home Bible study in the fall of
2000. In the spring of 2002, we began meeting on Sunday mornings in a local fire station.
Our desire has never been to merely start another
church or to compete with our other brothers and
sisters in Christ. We simply want to know Jesus
and be conformed into His image by the power of
the Holy Spirit. As a result, our vision became
that of making disciples (Matthew 28:19). We felt
called to bring this vision to Parker and beyond,
and recognized that there was a place and a need
in the body for our philosophy of ministry
(developed from
Acts 2:42).
We long to please the Lord by BRINGING each person
to Christ, GROWING each person in Christ, and SENDING
each person for Christ. In order to accomplish
this, we make it our aim to first preach the gospel
and teach the word of God. We seek to develop loving
fellowship. We also promote an atmosphere of worship
and love for the Lord. In addition, we place an
emphasis on prayer. Finally, we believe it is essential
that each person discover their place within the
body of Christ and that they are equipped and encouraged
to serve.
We praise the Lord that He is accomplishing all
this and much more in His people. We are blessed
to regularly be leading people to Jesus. A genuine
love for others is evident in the body. Passionate
worship and love for Jesus is among us. Fervent
prayer abounds. Fruitful service and changed lives
are all around us. In addition, we are now blessed
to see what we have experienced here being taken
to the greater Denver area, across the United States,
and around the world through the In the Word eVotions
and podcast, and the web. We are also
privileged to take the gospel directly to Africa
and Asia through
19 native missionaries and pastors. Truly we are astounded at what the Lord has done.
