Loving God's Word
By Pastor Jason Van
Divier
“He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of
water, that brings forth its fruit in its season,
whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does
shall prosper.”
Psalm 1:3
(NKJV)
Those who delight themselves in God’s Word are the
beneficiaries of these great promises. As sure as a
tree planted by a river is established, brings forth
fruit, and remains, so will the man and woman of God
be blessed. With promises like these, it is surprising
that anyone would neglect God’s Word. What is more
relevant than the fruitfulness, health, and prosperity
of the people of God?
It is simply a matter of time before the nourishment
of the Word transforms our ordinary lives into
something unimaginable. We will bring forth the
specific fruit that God created us for. We will do so
at just the right time, and nothing shall diminish the
Lord’s work in us. There is no drought spiritually for
those who are in God’s Word. There is no danger of
being toppled by the wind for those who find shelter
in Scripture. Even in the off seasons of life, there
is joy and hope. What a tremendous reward for such a
simple pursuit – that we love and cherish that which
ministers so deeply to our souls. |
